Head Coach - Varsity
Justin McDowell
Coach McDowell enters his fifth season at the helm of the Titans' baseball program, boasting an impressive 72-32 record at Triway. Before joining the Titans, he served as the head coach at Waynedale High School, where he compiled a 101-44 career record. Over five seasons there, his teams secured three WCAL championships, three district titles, one regional title, one regional runner-up finish, and a Division III state runner-up finish in 2016. Under his leadership, 13 players have continued their baseball careers at the collegiate level.

As a player, McDowell competed collegiately at the College of Wooster, where he played a key role in the Scots' 2009 College World Series run, finishing as national runner-up. A three-time First Team All-NCAC selection, he earned All-Region honors twice and was named an All-American in 2009 after leading the NCAA in wins (13). During his four-year tenure, Wooster amassed a remarkable 140-38 record.

Following his playing career, McDowell spent two seasons coaching pitchers at the College of Wooster and also served as an assistant coach for the Wayne County Legion team. In 2012, he transitioned into education, teaching freshman history at Waynedale, and now serves as the Athletic Director at Triway.

Off the field, McDowell is married to Annie, Triway's elementary STEAM teacher. They have two sons—Holden (6) and Madden (3). A native of Willard, Ohio, he graduated from Willard High School in 2007.

Assistant Coach - Varsity
Brandon "BG" Giles
Coach Giles enters his fifth season with the Triway baseball program, bringing a strong background in player development. Before joining the Titans, he spent five years as an assistant coach alongside Coach McDowell at Waynedale High School. He specializes in working with infielders, catchers, and strength training in the weight room.

A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Giles earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology and Sports Medicine before completing his Master's in Education at Walsh University. He currently serves as Triway's Athletic Trainer and Weight Room Coordinator.

Coach Giles lives in Canton with his wife, Leah, and their three children — Sofia, Vincenzo, and Rocco.

Riley Gumber
Coach Gumber enters his second season with the Triway baseball program, bringing firsthand experience as a recent Triway graduate. A 2023 alumnus, he was a standout three-sport athlete and played a key role in the Titans' district runner-up baseball team that same year.

After high school, Riley quickly discovered a passion for coaching. In addition to coaching baseball, he assists with middle school football and serves as the JV head basketball coach. He is currently pursuing a degree in education at the University of Akron.

Turner "TG" Giles
Coach Giles ("TG") enters his second season with the Triway baseball program, bringing a strong background in the game like his older brother, Coach BG. TG was a standout player at East Canton High School.

After graduating high school, TG enlisted in the Army National Guard, showcasing his dedication to service and discipline. He has also earned his certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from Stark State.

Easton Barnard
Coach Barnard joins the Triway baseball staff for his first season as a coach. A 2023 Triway graduate, he was a multi-sport athlete, excelling in both football and baseball. As a catcher, he played a key role in the Titans' district runner-up finish his senior year.

After high school, Barnard initially pursued a degree in turf management before transitioning to work locally. Now, he brings his knowledge and experience to the Triway baseball program, focusing on developing the team's catchers.

Andrew Marcum
Coach Marcum enters his 17th season with the Triway baseball program, including 11 years at the high school level and six with the 14U team. He primarily works with the outfielders, bringing experience and dedication to player development.

A graduate of DeVry University in Columbus, Coach Marcum earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems before completing a Master's in Business Administration at Malone University. He currently works as an Application Automation Engineer at The J.M. Smucker Company. In addition to coaching, he volunteers as a statistician for the Triway football and basketball teams, is an active member of the Triway Athletic Booster Club, and serves as a trustee for Wayne Holmes Baseball League, Inc.

Coach Marcum lives in Wooster with his wife, Jennifer, and their daughter, Avery.

Tyrone Hostetler
Coach Hostetler enters his fourth season with the Triway baseball program, bringing years of coaching experience. Before joining the Titans, he spent a season as an assistant coach at Waynedale and coached at Kingsway Christian from 2003 to 2007.

"Coach Tyrone" currently works as a Robotic Welding Technician at Arc & Gauge. In addition to coaching baseball, he serves as the head coach of the Lady Titans soccer program, where he is building a strong foundation in that program. Before coming to Triway, he also coached girls' soccer at Waynedale.
